Long ago, before the earth was created, The People all lived in the clouds.  One day, a representative of The People went before their leader, Capo, and told him of their troubles.  The representative said:  "Oh great Leader Capo, although you have provided most abundantly, The People are not satisfied."  Capo said, "What is the problem?  I have given you food, water, and all you could ever want!  I don't understand!"  The representative nervously said, "Well, you see great Leader Capo, that is really the problem.  The People have nothing to do, because The People have had everything given to them."  Capo thought for a moment, and then dismissed the representative without another word.

For the next week, The People waited nervously for word from Capo, but none came.  Capo had been quick to anger in the past.  Finally, when The People had just about given up hope of anything happening, one of Capo's messenger's came running.  He told The People that they must choose a man and a woman to send to him.  After much discussion, finally Guerrieo and Prestatore were elected.  Nervously they set off to meet Capo.  No one knew why they were being sent.

When Guerrieo and Prestatore appeared before Capo, he explained to them that he had decided to allow the two of them to start a new life, in a place he would create just for them.  He told them it would not be easy, and there would be no going back.  With that, he sent them through the clouds.

As they were falling, Guerrieo noticed that there was nothing below them to break their fall.  “Prestatore!” he shouted, “We are going to die!  Look, all that is down there is water!”  Prestatore said, “Calm down Guerrieo, I will be able to save us.”  She reached into her bag a pulled out a clay bowl.  “Prestatore!  I am going to drop this!  It will expand, and we will land on it and make our homes there!”  It happened exactly as she said.

Prestatore and Guerrieo lived for many years. It wasn’t always easy, but with Guerrieo hunting and Prestatore keeping the home well-kept, they managed.  One day, when Prestatore and Guerrieo were quite old, they realized that they had no way of preserving the life of The People here on Earth, as they called it.  They spoke to Capo, who told them what they must do.  Although Prestatore and Guerrieo were afraid, they did what Capo told them, and that is how The People came to live on Earth.
