I remember when
I woke up
and found the bright sun
a joy

Today I wake up
and block the sun from my eyes

I remember when
I ran outside to
play on the swings

Today,
I can't seem
to tear myself away
from the
t.v.
and
computer

I remember when
homework meant
coloring
and a few sheets,
that took about
five minutes.

Today,
Homework means
reading,
and writing,
into the wee hours of the morning

I remember when
everything was simple
and the biggest decision
I had to make was
whether to have
peanut butter and jelly
or
bologna sandwich

Today,
I have to
decide my future,
Every decision I make
can affect
the
rest of my
life.

I remember childhood.

Today, I face being an adult.

Okay, so this is another one of the challenge poems. Pretty basic idea. I guess its not JUST about childhood, but it pretty much is about it. its number 48 on the list.
